2024 Highlights
- The Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 3500 HD chassis cab continues to employ the Duramax L5P, also found in its pickup models, and therefore receives a horsepower and torque output increase for the 2024 model year. The 2024 L5P is rated at a peak 470 horsepower and 975 lb-ft of torque. The larger 4500, 5500, and 6500 Silverado models continue to employ the commercial grade L5D Duramax peaking at 350 horsepower and 700 lb-ft of torque.
- If the International CV Series series medium duty truck looks similar to the Silverado 4500, 5500, 6500 HD, its because the truck platform is the result of a partnership between GM and International Truck Co. Due to its maximum available GVWR, the International CV series has been excluded from this guide.
- All three vehicle manufacturers offer stationary and mobile PTO provisions on both gas and diesel powertrain configurations.
