Duramax Maintenance Schedule

Recommended Service Intervals for all 6.6L Duramax Diesels

Manufacturer recommended maintenance intervals for all 6.6L Duramax Diesels, including the LB7, LLY, LBZ, LMM, and LML generations. Regular maintenance maximizes engine performance, efficiency, and, most importantly, longevity. In addition to the listed regularly scheduled maintenance items, the following items should be checked at or between oil change intervals: brake fluid level, transmission fluid level, air filter condition, and serpentine belt condition - replace, repair, or service as required.

2001 - 2010 Duramax Maintenance Schedule (LB7, LLY, LBZ, LMM)

* Oil Minder: 6.6L Duramax powered trucks are equipped with an Engine Oil Life System. The oil change intervals listed are the maximum mileage between oil changes. The Engine Oil Life System monitors mileage and driving conditions and will alert you when your oil should be changed based on observed conditions. As such, intervals will vary and the system may alert you to change your oil before the maximum recommended interval - have your oil changed when alerted by the Engine Oil Life System.

** Severe Duty: Severe duty driving conditions include (but are not limited to) - repeatedly driving in heavy city traffic in ambient temperatures greater than 90 degrees F, driving in hilly/mountainous terrain, frequently towing a trailer or hauling heavy objects.

*** Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF): Without diesel exhaust fluid, your engine will limit your vehicle speed and engine performance until it is refilled. Refill tank at every oil change and check between oil changes to avoid running out. The engine is equipped with a "DEF LOW" alert.
