Published April 5th, 2014

Black on black on black seems to be in style, prompts FCA to extend availability of Black Express trim package to Ram 2500 and 3500 HD models. Package includes 20" wheels, fogged headlights, and plenty of black.

Black appearance group package

"Blacked out" seems to be a trending style amongst drivers today. We're talking black on black on black - black paint, black interior, and black rims wrapped in black tires. Ram Trucks introduced a special "Black Express" trim package for the 1500 in 2013. Based on the packages popularity, Ram has decided to offer a similar package for 2500 and 3500 model pickups.

So just how black is the "Black Appearance Group" 2500/3500? Black exterior paint, black 20 inch aluminum wheels, blacked out grille inserts, door handles, and headlight bezels, and the the front/rear bumpers have been painted to match. In addition to the overwhelming display of darkness, the special package receives black emblems and badges. Staying true to the theme, special fogged headlights, which unfortunately could not be blacked out, are also included.

The latest option is available on all 2500/3500 single rear wheel (no option for the dually at time of publishing) crew cab and mega cab models, in both 4x2 and 4x4, with the Big Horn, Lone Star, and Laramie trim levels. Ram calls their latest creation the "Baddest-looking factory truck on the market". In their April 3rd, 2014 press release, Ram Trucks announced that the package is currently available and can be ordered from your local dealership. Chrysler is currently the only automaker offering such an option for fullsize pickups.
