Aisin AS68RC Transmission

AS68RC Transmission Specs & Ratios

The Aisin AS68RC six speed automatic transmission was designed and produced by Aisin-Warner, a joint venture between American drivetrain specialist BorgWarner and Japanese transmission manufacturer Aisin Seiki. Chrysler began using the AS68RC in their commercial truck line for the 2007 model year, upon the introduction of the 6.7L Cummins turbodiesel.

The transmission was only available in the Ram 3500, 4500, and 5500 chassis cab models. For the 2013 model year, Ram replaced the AS68RC with the AS69RC and extended its availability to Ram 3500 pickup models. Ram Trucks began using the AS66RC in chassis cab trucks for the 2014 model year - the two transmissions appear nearly identical. The Aisin AS68RC and AS69RC are also similar transmissions, the major differences being a slight variation in the 1st/2nd ratios and the suggested input torque of the AS69RC is marginally greater.
