All weight ratings and values are the maximum available for a properly equipped vehicle; actual ratings will depend on product selection, configuration, optional equipment, and upfit conditions.

GVWR

Gross Vehicle Weight Rating. Maximum rated weight of a vehicle and its cargo, including passengers (excluding trailers).

GCWR

Gross Combined Weight Rating. Maximum rated combined weight of a vehicle, its cargo, and trailer(s).

FAWR

Front Axle Weight Rating. Maximum rated weight that can be applied to the axle.

RAWR

Rear Axle Weight Rating. Maximum rated weight that can be applied to the axle.

Payload

Maximum weight of combined cargo that a vehicle can carry (excluding trailers).

Conventional Tow

Maximum rated trailer weight when towing using a conventional "bumper pull" receiver hitch.

2020 Highlights - Chassis Cab & Work Truck Segment

• General Motors introduces the 6.6L L8T gas V-8, which replaces the 6.0L Vortec in commercial truck applications. The direct injection engine boasts respectable 401 horsepower and 464 lb-ft peak ratings. The L5P and L5D 6.6L Duramax diesels remain unchanged for 2020, although the Sierra/Silverado 3500HD chassis cab yields significant increases in GVW, GCW, payload, and axle weight ratings.

• Ford Motor Company introduces its 7.3L PFI V-8 gas engine and retires the long lived 6.8L Triton V-10. The big displacement engine produces up to 350 horsepower and 468 ft-lbs of torque in Ford's commercial applications, while the pickup version is rated at a peak 430 horsepower and 475 lb-ft of torque. Ford's commercial tuned 6.7L Power Stroke returns with an extra 75 lb-ft of torque, bringing peak rated torque to 825 lb-ft from last year's 750 lb-ft.
