New Venture NV5600

NV5600 Transmission Specs & Ratios

The New Venture NV5600 was standard behind the High Output (H.O.) version of the 5.9L Cummins Turbodiesel. While it features a favorable gear spread and strength characteristics, the transmission did not gain the same popularity that the lighter, smooth shifting NV4500 attracted. In 2001, the NV5600 received an upgraded clutch, input shaft, and improved synchronizer design. These modifications were in response to many issues and complaints from owners, particularly performance and reliability concerns while towing.
