Ford 4R100 Transmission

4R100 Transmission Specs & Ratios

Ford's 4R100 automatic transmission replaced the E4OD transmission for the 1999 model year Ford Super Duty, and was mated to the 7.3L Power Stroke diesel through 2003 model year trucks. When the 7.3L was phased out, so was the 4R100 transmission. In their place, the 6.0L Power Stroke and 5R110W TorqShift were introduced as replacements. The 4R100 proved to be a reliable transmission at stock performance levels. The transmission quickly becomes a weak link in the drivetrain when owners start drastically increasing their engines torque output. Fortunately, the aftermarket provides an array of solutions for 7.3L Power Stroke owners who need to increase the torque capacity of their 4R100. Though similar in design to the E4OD transmission, the E4OD and 4R100 components are NOT interchangeable.
